CMUMC Weekly Update 4/26/18

Bumper stickers (or window stickers) are a pop culture all their own.  I have seen some that I was embarrassed on behalf of the driver, whether they were embarrassed or not.  I have seen others that call me to prayer, especially those that have words along the lines of “In Loving Memory. . . “  Others either provoke deeper thinking, some make me laugh out loud.  Many strike a cord of competition within me because I haven’t run a marathon (26.2), my kids were not National Honor Society recipients and did not play in the high school.  They did play football, soccer, baseball and one sang in the high school choir – but we didn’t have those cute stickers to put on back windows back then, so I’m still feeling a little jealous.  Often we can tell where someone goes to church by a sticker on their window, some with an invitation to “Follow Me to Grace Avenue UMC” for instance.

Yesterday I saw a bumper sticker to top all bumper stickers!  It said: “I Would Walk Across LEGOS for You!”  That is some kind of commitment there!  Jesus would do that for you too, and through closed doors, and join you in tight places.
